Specialisation in forest products management. Since its inauguration
Euroamérica S.A. has focused in the commercialisation of services to forestry
as rough or processed wood, paper, pulp, boards, lumber, timber and other
wood products. This has result in the Port Terminal becoming in the only one
specialised in forestry in the country, this fact being world-wide
recognised. A complete set of machinery and special garments for this type of
cargo, together with the skilfulness of the personnel and the usage of modern
cargo handling procedures are the basis for granting the customers an
appropriate management of their cargoes, this being of paramount importance
when dealing with such a delicate product. The forestry warehouses are last
generation ones and have been designed and built according the standards of
the main paper, pulp and wooden products companies in the world as well as
carriers specialised in forestry logistics. Additional services specially
devoted to forestry as the size cut and rewinding for kraft linerboard and
pulp reels, identifiaction of each unit of lumber or boards by means of
special labelling at port with common codification with discharging ports,
unitising of cargoes, design of the most efficient packing for wooden
products, availability of special equipment to square lumber bundles together
with the adaptation of services to this type of cargo and the specialisation
of others (as the Customs brokerage) compound a "tailored" service for
this type of cargo.
